steikheigel
not exactly the right place for this, but blonde moment = wasnt sure where to put it In my care i currently have two wonderful Dolomedes spiders, and theres lots of talk on what/how they eat. I want to test the theory that they will 'fish' for small fish and waterbugs - so i would like some fish to feed to them Any ideas on where to get some freshwater fish larvae (in Dunedin)? probably doesn't matter what kind, but who really knows. steikheigel
Havnt tried anything yet wondering where to find the sacrificial baby fish - petshop?
bdspider
There's usually heaps of guppies on Trademe, way cheaper than pet store (cos they're crappy specimens usually) They breed constantly so you can have a everlasting supply of fry. Joshlikesfish
I have a small tank with guppies. They almost reproduce quicker then I can catch them

alanmin4304
Do they feed on fish fry or aquatic insects? Daphnia, mossie larvae etc might be easier.
Carlos & Siran
We had a reasonably large one in our Terrarium, along with a wee cold water fish of some sort, approximately the size of a small guppy and although we saw the spider under water hunting quite often It never caught it, in fact I think it became a frog snack itself as when we moved it was gone. "They mainly eat insects, but some larger species are able to catch small fish" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolomedes Neat spiders!
