Wok
Well done Fishcoaster. That is always the best way to breed killies - without trying
blueyes
These look like neat killies..... can someone tell me about their nature and how big they get etc...
Sophia
Clowns stay small, like under 2-3cm, and they are top of the tank dwellers. If you do a search on threads by member Deepsound you will see his very nice little clown tank, inspiring pictures.
blueyes
Oh my gosh.....they are such beautiful fish..... I'm in love..... I wonder how they would go with my BN's and tetras in their tank, I was wanting something for the upper level......
fishcoaster
they should be fine with bristle nose and tetras but the tetras and bn will eat the clown eggs of course if your tank is hevily planted you could get a few fry
Sophia
Depends how big they all are as to which fish would eat the others, but if this is the tank with floating plants then they could be fine. There are some nice ones on youtube too.
fishcoaster
if you want them the best bet would be to join the killie club then talk to barry on this website about them
blueyes
I'm thinking of having a nice big school each of Lemon Tetra and Blood Fin Tetra....I've got some nice Riccia that I picked up somewhere that I can float for them too...... it will have quite a few plants in it...... sorry, really didn't mean to hijack this thread...... fishcoaster
no worries if your clowns are a reasonable size when you get them you should be ok need to pick up some of that riccia myself
blueyes
Thanks fishcoaster, the tank is still in the setup stage at the moment, so will be a while before I get to add the killies, but I'm really glad I've discovered them I think they will be perfect for the tank..... I have been looking into Killies actually for the last week or so as I was thinking about Golden Panchax (I think thtas what they are called) for my Asian tank and they do sound like awesome fish....... so easy to get addicted lol, first comes the tropical addiction and then comes the individual species addiction!!! Oh, and congrats on the babies, I hope they all do well for you, look forward to seeing pics too
Sophia
those gold ones look awesome, Barrie has one (at least he did when I was there) but they have a reputation for eating things they shouldn't....
