nativelover
ok this is the answer i got for the second question the full capacity of an aquarium that is 600mm x 300mm x 300mm volume= 51.86 litres empty weight= 5kg approx total weight= 56 kg is it correct ? thanks
the-obstacle
volume: is 0.25m3/250L overall (outside of tank panels), for actual litres you will need to deduct the glass thickness. I'm betting that's the problem - the math teacher will be expecting the volume on paper, not the actual weight/volume. The fact that it's a fish tank is just a way of saying "here is a 3d object of these dimensions, what is the volume"
nativelover
ok i think i have it sussed but what glass thickness should i put for the 1000x500x500 tank? thank you so much everyone i know im being super annoying
SamH
ok i think i have it sussed but what glass thickness should i put for the 1000x500x500 tank? 10mm, depends on bracing too.

nativelover
il try that when the calculater ask for the water height what shall i put?
SamH
These all seem like very strange questions. Some of them can have different answers based on different factors. These questions need more detail and/or a less close answer required. If that makes sense?
bdspider
What year level are you in? Are you sure they even want to know the glass info? Maybe empty weight = 0, full weight = weight of water only?? Make sure you put in all your workings, how you did the calculations. They want to see that you understand what you're doing, not just using a calculator on a website.
Josh_S
As long as you show all your working out (and your maths is correct), there shouldn't be any wrong answers. If they dont specify the details use your best idea, just let them know what you are doing at every step of the calculation.
Barrie
you may well also add that as no thickness was specified, you have used a recomended thickness of ** as recomended by the FNZAS
nativelover
im in year 12 and thats a good idea about the recomended thickness should i put a thickness of 8mm?
nativelover
i got an extension till 3pm for the 1metre x 500mm x 500mm one i put a thickness of 8mm and the tank calculater said tank height to short for glass thickness what does this mean? also i am unsure what to put for the water level so i put 470mm? would that be correct thanks
SamH
calculater said tank height to short for glass thickness what does this mean? That your glass is too thick.
