Advice about Kribs

I have recently brought a breeding pair of kribs and have them in a 54l (will get bigger tank in a few months)

I have just seen another breeding pair at a fish shop where I am on holiday (very cheap), which the fish shop are holding for me.

My prob is that they have recently breed and the shop owner thinks they may have killed the other couple of fish in the tank. Is this common? Or would it not be a good idea to put them in with my other pair. No point buying one if they are going to kill the other.

My other option is to temporarily put them in that tank and then give away my convicts and use that tank.

Also the pair in the fish shop - their babies are 2 weeks old would they be okay on their own I thought they would be okay as there is nothing else in the tank. The owner wasnt sure. Am heading back tomorrow afternoon so hoping to make a decision tomorrow morning.
