wayno3579
Trying to decide "where to next" with this tank... http://www.flickr.com/photos/54181265@N05/5016379247/ Its had a variety of incarnations in its time, the latest being a home for a community of tetras (rummy's, phantoms,) and 2 GBA. Wanting to explore something more exotic, but something that wont destroy my plants. Suggestions please Currently contemplating rams but....want something different... Was thinking about severums or parrots but tank is only 160L and apparently severum are fairly destructive?
phoenix44
That is exquisite! Healthy plants all around. I personally like cardinals but the small rasboras are really nice too.
Joshlikesfish
Rams would be nice.
phoenix44
Just read about you thinking of sevs and parrots..... They are about the worst selections for that tank. Almost like putting silver dollars in that tank and then starving them. Kiss the plants goodbye!

wayno3579
They do look pretty nice! Thanks for the compliments guys - its taken a while to get here but am very proud of how it looks now. Looks awesome at night with all the plants releasing oxygen bubbles. phoenix44
Peaceful; but territorial when breeding like most cichlids.
ryanjury
Yeah they aren't actually that bad, can be terriotorial when breeding but I managed to breed mine (2-3yr old big pair) in a 45cm tank with guppies that didn't get harmed so I have found they aren't that nasty.. Pics of the parents of the young I have for sale are here - click to make it bigger.
David R
Given that most of the floor of the tank is covered in plants with a big empty space above, I'd go with a big school of something, and not cichlids. Rummy noses would look great, but really its all down to personal preference.

ryanjury
No reason not to do some dwarfs with some schooling fish
phoenix44
Yeah, I kinda see how any cichlid would be out of place in that tank. Won't really look right unless you got your hands on an apisto baenschi; which you wont over here. Maybe badis badis?
Joshlikesfish
badis badis are sooo cool

wayno3579
not worried about the community anymore, will donate the tetras to someone. GBA's will be alright with them? just want something a bit different
phoenix44
yep. and as long as that tank is totally covered, you should be fine.
