lambo
Hi all, Finally realising my dream of converting to a marine setup and things seem to be going well so far. I'm after a little bit of advice about what type/brand of skimmer to get for my 300l tank. At the mo i'm looking at the deltec and the reef octopus brands. Has anyone got any positives and/or negatives about these brands or alternatively can anyone recommend another brand? Thanks in advance
phoenix44
You'd be better off comparing 2 specific skimmers as opposed to two different brands. Deltec however is quite reputable.

reef
im after a little bit of advice about what type/brand of skimmer to get for my 300l tank. Depends how much you want to spend and do you want something good. For that size tank you could get a Deltec 300 skimmer or even Better the mce600. The mce600 is the best hang on skimmer around, however comes at a price. The mce300 is ok for maybe 200L tank, and does not skim anywhere near as well as the mce 600 As skimmers are one of the most important tool for a reef tank it is something you don't want to skimp on. here is some non biased reviews http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=963923 http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2006/7/review
