Sophia
If you don't keep it trimmed does it sneak or break off to other parts of the tank and attach to things like java moss? Or does it just get bigger as a plant by itself? I'm trying to decide whether to ditch my riccia stone and switch to xmas moss. thanks
supasi
From my experiances it just gets bigger and bigger. It just keeps growing into one giant ball of moss.
A-town...
fish pull on it and it becomes loose will float to a new part of the tank and start growing new "moss balls"
Joe
I have a large piece of bogwood in my tank with Xmas moss on it. I have it under a T8 AquaGlo (18,000K) and an Aqua One T8 tube (15,000K). It grows flat, but very compact, and has very well-defined triangular fronds. My fish sometimes eat little microbes amongst its foliage, but never touch the moss itself. It doesn't break of either, just gets bigger and bigger.
