hi i am in 6th form and are leaveing next year but was hoping to go to unitec next year so where do their courses lead you ? if i wanted to be a zookeeper or something thanks greatly appreshiated

don`t know abouty leaving but would suggest staying on with a goal of going to university and doing a zoolology degree?others will be more up with the play.i think LA`s son(one of them)maybe going down this track?

you will want to do captive wild animal management at unitec volunteering at the zoo might help too

Done captive wild animals course via unitech, loved it was so awesome,

but wait till your've finished school it and do 7th form bio, makes it alot easier

well.

You dont need to do 7th form. Go to uni tec and do the captive wild course, this take a year. Then go to uni and take a degree is science with a biology major. This is what i recommend, 7th form is a big waste of time and 1st year bio is easy and i didn't go to 7th form bio class. Uni is getting harder to get into so make sure your 6th form results are good M and E will help. if you dont you may need to do CUP which is a uni entrance paper.

Zoology requires Biology (of course), physics (animal structure or something) and stats. Check out uni sites for more info, thought about this course but not too flash at physics. My info is for a Uni major though.

7th form year is the best school year out! so many more privileges, good times and mates - do 7th form

I know you at Massey in Palmy i think alot of the BSc's to do with thuis type of thing, eg zoology, Ecology... you need bio and chem, math and english and only a few papers need physics

most unis don't have any pres for bio, i know they do for chem and physics. However don't let them stop you from taking a paper. I only did 5th form maths and i now take it at uni without meeting the required entrance. Just got to do a little extra work.

Auckland Uni is holding Courses and Careers Day soon - you should be able to get some more info on degrees etc there. The other institutions probably will have theirs at a similar time.
