Pegasus
Hi CG, Get a tube of good quality silicone that states it is recommended for aquariums. Locate the leak.... give it a good clean... then apply a blob of silicone to your finger and push it into the leaky area on the INSIDE of the tank. You DON'T have to empty the tank to do this... it will cure underwater. The silicone will set (cure) as normal and your leak will cease Bill. critter_guy
ive sorted it out, i was using hubba bubba and that didnt work so i tried jucy fruit and it worked - no more leak
Pegasus
Point is that your favorite choice of gum may not last... or could even be swallowed by the fish. Up to you... but silicone is the answer Bill.
Ira
Just remember, don't worry if you see your fish swimming around with little pink bubbles coming out of their mouths....

livebearer_breeder
I would NOT recommend useing jiucy fuit chewing gum! do you know what sort of effect it could have on your fish? how long do you expect it to last? You should head Bills Advice and get some silicon. either that or decomision the tank. Its not that expensive. And Tim you should not be encouraging him to do something like that! Pies
How could you not take Pegasus advice there? Juicy Fruit? Hahahha o-well made me smile anyway Get the leak sorted ASAP, surley chewing gum will bio-degrade over time? I have fixed a leak with water in the tank before using FOSROCK RTV, no problemo. Alan
If you use the nicotine substitute gum, it will help thhe fish in the tank give up smoking. Now that's a thought, a smoke-free zone, fish tank. Alan
I luv killies
gum lasts for something like 6 years in your stomach which has a pH of about 2. It should last much longer on a tank.
