imsweet
slight impulse buy - looks like a giraffe (an i love them) , would say tan with dark brown splotches. Currently in Q tank but settled in really fast. have looked thru planet catfish etc at the pics but cant spend all day on here. LPS told me it was something (but it isnt that). Hopefully it wont grow to 2ft - anything under that is ok tho

firenzenz
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/sp ... ies_id=148 It will create a lot of waste so have plenty of filtration/Bio
imsweet
Awesome - some pics look just like it. Have a plan (in the air) to move away from all my smaller plants, just keep the bigger ones and have a selection of wood in there. Eventually my tiny fish will expire and just have the plec and a couple of angels in there. (my killis are safe in another tank) Have been slightly motivated by all the aqua-scaping pics on the net but saw some cool pics and vids of amazon type tanks that resemble looking just under the water level of a river. I dont have the patience / lighting or money for the planted tanks i like, so this seems logical for me. Never too late for a change. flatfish
nice red spot. They are a great looking pleco but in a large tank with good feeding they can grow to 45 cm so your tank layout may eventually change quite a bit. Big ones will move things around, destroy any edible or fragile plants, and they can be stroppy towards similar looking plecos. It will be fine for a while though as small ones are generally well behaved.
malevolentsparkle
ah i had one many years back. diddn't do so well, but then i never had much luck with plecos
imsweet
Brother in law had a fully grown one in a 2ft tank (thought it was a tad small for it) and wanted me to take it. But i had only just got my 3ft tank and had big dreams for it. But there is talk of getting a bigger tank if we sell. (have no where to put it if got it now)
