Air Pump for a small fish room

Sick of eheim diaphram pumps crapping out on me so looking for a single pump to handle approx 20 tanks in my garage / fish room. Tanks are all on sumps so air is used mainly for airlifts into floating fry tubs, airstones and a few foam filters in fry tanks. Im currently running 3 Eheim 400's but just had another diaphram let go, on top of a broken arm, and the outlets breaking easily im less than happy with them.

Anyone used an abaquamedic mistral ? or have any other recommendations ?

One of these should do the job..

If you wanted to go bigger

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 704511.htm

I have a 70LPM one running 30-40 airstones at the moment.

If you wanted to go with a diagram pump then hailea bring out one like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 898861.htm that is quite big and you can fit the irrigation stuff onto to plumb it in..

The diagram one is pretty quiet but the compressors are actually not that bad when they're new, I had a 10+yr old one that was running my fishroom and that was pretty rattly.. Also if you are testing them to see how noisy they are make sure you plug an air line into them and have air stones etc running off them as with no load on them they are really noisy.

I would suggest finding someone locally who is running one and go and have a look and listen (if you feel like a short trip feel free to come and visit) and see what you think. Sometimes petshops run a whole heap of different ones so they are good to go and have a look at.

Ryan, how many LPH would you suggest for 5 150L tanks running 24/7?

You could probably get away with something like this.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 937350.htm and have a bit of air to burn :)

The best way to plumb these big air pumps in is using the 13mm black irrigation piping and irrigation fittings from bunnings etc..

Your going up just to view those zebra plecs arnt you.. admit it.... I was trying to dream up an excuse to go to Auckland... maybe a trip to kelly tarltons for the kids (honest) with side trip to check out the zebras, if they have any left that is.

Thanks for the advice on pumps, gives me several options to consider

i ran 1 compressor style pump for over 20 tanks in the garage - the trick is to plumb the garage with the 19mm garden sprinkler system black pvc tubing - just run droppers off of it to your tanks - the tubing acts as a reservior so air pressure is never an issue
