SamH
I'm no salty but I even I know that you're going to have to be more specific. Is it going to be fish only or have inverts too? How big does it need to be? etc.

phoenix44
I used to.. cost a tad more than 3k though  Then there is the livestock. Then you'll wake up one morning and say .. well this skimmer needs upsizing. It goes downhill from that point on. FW it is for me until i buy my own house. water from the ocean is free, and you'll need to buy salt if you know someone who can provide you with a regular supply of RO water. youll want RO water so you can keep the parameters stable and you know what minerals you are putting in the tank. look at Reef's thread on here with his RSM for inspiration. spoon
start by getting ya tank then go from there its gunna take a lot longer to cycle than any freahgwater tank you have ever had and you dont want to mess it up as fish and corals are expensive . you will have plenty of time to save up for livestock while your tank is cycling
