Swag
I have a very small tank (about 10 ltrs) I am going to use as a quarantine tank for new fish. What type of filter and pump would be best, It is only 15cm high.
SamH
A small sponge filter will do. HTH
Stella
If you have a canister filter or similar you can put the sponge over the inlet to that, then when you need to quarantine the sponge is already colonised with nitrifying bacteria. You may need to tear the sponge a bit to get it to fit over. The other advantage of this is it stops particulates getting into your cannister, which mean you should almost never need to clean it (which is how canisters are supposed to work). fishfreak
Sponge filters work great for small to medium quarantine tanks. I tend to keep a few of the sponges in existing systems (in sumps etc) prior to use so you will allready have them colonised and ready to go. kiwiplymouth
I don't usually keep a filter in my QT tank as it receives daily water changes
