scatman
I have a Niger in a fish only system. I add live shrimps once a week and he is brutal on them . I do not want to waste my money on cleaner shrimps as i can see them going the same way.
marinebetta
refer p107 ultimate marine aquariums - clown trigger in 120g reef tank p29 ultimate marine aquariums - niger trigger in 486g reef tank you pays your money - you takes your choice- theoretically if it comes from the reef it can go in your tank - just depends on whether you can handle what i eats/does to your tank. i have heard of quite a few triggers in reef tanks WITH shrimps, lotsa coral etc with no deleterious effects. take every piece of advice with a large grain of salt (lol)- what works for one - doesnt work for another. Brianemone
congrats on your first post marinebetta on the topic of the Niger, i love the way they swim but would be very cautious adding them to a tank with expensive cleaner shrimp
scatman
I agree that you can keep a trigger in a reef but one will never know untill you add it to the tank. I added a snail and he killed it in a day-just like any other object that moves thats edible. If you do find one thats peacefull-what a bonus. It is in the nature of this fish to dominate and to be robust. I wont add mine to a reef but then you might be lucky -the majority will however keep well clear of triggers
