Insect Direct
bloodworms ok once they get use to them...wiggle around with tweezers in front of them etc. daphnia good for keeping the water clean. nt sure the newts eat much in the water once morphed though. pinhead crickets are the best food. wingless ff ok but dont feed out too much at a time and best to have a very fitting lid (fine fabric under lid maybe) otherwise they end up getting out. whiteworms, and aphids good treats

sneaky2
if you keep them aquatic instead of terrestrial for the first year they will grow 3 times as fast n eat bloodworms, whiteworms frozen brineshrimp e.c.t.normaly the terrestrial phase is winter dormancy and they head for water in spring.
