Vinnie
I'm looking for an old game called X-Com Apocalypse. Would any one have a copy, or know any one with one that they would sell? Any help would be great

elusive_fish
I thought that it was considered abadoneware. Check out some of the sites like http://www.homeoftheunderdogs.net/
John Rimbauer
It's a difficult game to get to run nicely under XP or Win 7. You'll need leet Dosbox skills (or just google Xcom Apocalypse and Dos box) to run it well. I've got my original disk, so I used that, but I read several notes saying that the mounted ISO route was easier as you don't need to sort out CDROM compatibility. Search abandonware sites and you'll probably find a copy.
John Rimbauer
Ah - a few minutes of google-fu and here we are: http://www.cdosabandonware.com/games/XCOMApocalypse.zip Now you get the fun part of downloading it, and trying to get it to work.
bdspider
Does anyone remember an old dos pc game, I used to play a demo on on of those 100 games discs... It was a fighting game and the characters were things like a golem, an eyeball, a lizard man, a cyclops, all sorts like that. I *think* it was one word and began with a weird letter, like Q, X, Z etc but can't remember. Possibly from mid-late 90s. I've been trying to remember the name for ages, have googled, looked on abandonware sites etc but can't figure it out
elusive_fish
What you are describing makes me think of a game called Tongue of the Fat Man. But that might be a little too old... and crap. http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/179 (I have wasted WAAAAY too much time on gaming!) bdspider
Nah, it's not that. I think my game is a little older cos it was less detailed. Thanks for trying though
Ira
Was it text based or graphic?
bdspider
graphic. The background was like the inside of a roman style arena, and the fighters were in front.
bdspider
The reason I asked is 'cos it was on the same series of discs that also had a demo of X-com UFO so it reminded me... I've been trying to remember the name forever, it's bugging me.
