mcrudd
Here is a pic of one of my zebra chockies. Sorry about the quality of the pic, but this little guy was hiding all the way at the end of a log tunnel I am so excited that i got them, there is two, the other one is hiding right under the bogwood, can't get a pic of him, could only see his tail fins. I have waited long enough for them, and just wanted to share with you guys, any info on bringing these up successfully will be appreciated as well

You got one too :bounce: They are the cutest, and my bristlenose male is such a gentleman, he shares everything with them no fights or squabbles Can't wait to see your photo. Mine was all pale the day before yesterday when i got them, poor things did not like the half an hour trip back home in the car, though I covered them with a dark jacket (I was freezing LOL) the whole trip home But as you can see their colour is much darker today
Adrienne
Heard that you had been in to get them yesterday. I believe you had your eyes on something else as well They are neat fish - I have three but don't often see them which is such a shame. phoenix44
ha ha sweet. like any other hypancistrus, they like fish protein and good quality sinking tablets like hikari. Raw shrimp and fish goes down a treat and is great for conditioning them. Congrats on the 'acquisition'.

Yes and you know what :bounce: I am gonna get two of the something else as well. Hubby promised me that I would get them either next month or the month after. He wants them to be old enough to sex before he buys them I am over the moon excited :bounce: ha ha sweet. like any other hypancistrus, they like fish protein and good quality sinking tablets like hikari. THanks so much for the info, I am currently feeding them hikari algae wafers and nutrifin protein tablets. And I think they might have assisted my bristlenoses with the zuchini cause it was polished off over night
phoenix44
yeah, my Hypans enjoy courgette and cucumber as well as potato on occasion. They will do just about any thing if a hikari wafer gets into the tank, and they forget all about hiding and being secretive. I typically have to put 4-5 of them in the tank so that some of the other bottom dwellers get a chance to eat them and its a complete feeding frenzy with tails flicking everywhere. BikBok
mcrud, well ZEB or ZED as my hubby insists is hiding under a piece of driftwood so I can't get a good pic but will try again tomorrow. here's a couple I took while he was still in the floating bag though. He's darkened up since being in the tank and is still a baby so I guess he will even colour up some more as time goes on.

mcrudd
Awww BikBok he is the cutest little thing under the sun We really need a smilley with little hearts around it, that would express your little fellow much better. I must remember to take pics while they float in the bag, I never think of it and once they are in the tank they go in hiding for days before they settle :-?
