Full daylight high noon at the equator mid summer on a clear day etc you'll get about 4000 watts of light per square meter, on your tank's area that would be about 800 watts. I'd say as long as you don't go over that you don't have too much light. You have 54 watts. More practically though, as long as your tank isn't turning green or overheating. You don't have too much light. And that's dependent on water quality.
Aquila
Make sure you don't overdo it on the photoperiod though. 12 hours and you might grow lots of green spot algae.

SamH
You can have as much light as your CO2 and nutrients can balance out

I have one CFL over my 60x30 tank, grew hairgrass with a single CFL also in a 27cm deep tank. You have plenty

You have plenty Could be t8 not entirely sure, I didnt look at the tube untill I had installed the unit, and its far too cramped and fiddly in there to get a real look now. Once I get a camera again I'll throw up some pics of the setup, quite proud hehe. Finally tracked down my plants too so it should be all planted at the end of next week. :bounce: TY
