BikBok
I don't think I can name the specific auction here so I won't but i found the wording on the auction for an aggressive fish rather strange and a bit upsetting.. am I overreacting? here's the last part of the add: It has reached the point that we've begun to fear for Dot's safety and think it would be best that Florence was adopted into a new home, with a new aqua family that she doesn't feel the need to go all David Bain on. We are willing to post Florence in a waterproof envelope if it comes to that. If unsold she will be freed into the Avon River, so place your bids craniate lovers! I think the David Bain reference is inappropriate but more importantly the part that bugs me is the threat to release it into the avon river. The fish looks tropical to me but i can't be sure, but even if it were coldwater surely you are not allowed to just release fish of unknown species into the wild? the seller themselves do not know what species the fish is, they bought it from animates. If Mods say I can name the auction I will.. or if I've said too much already then I expect they'll remove my thread. Not meaning to break any rules.. but the add is a bit concerning in my opinion and I don't know whether I should comment on the auction(about release) or not. I wonder why they just don't take the aggressive fish back to animates.
phoenix44
I wonder why they just don't take the aggressive fish back to animates. If they are as silly as to contemplate releasing it, I can assure you that thought has not crossed their mind. this is the auction - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 387592.htm is it a paradise fish or a sparkling gourami? BikBok
I see they've removed the David Bain reference and have a few unanswered questions.
livingart
i think the advert has been tongue in cheek to attact more attention to it
douwe
Seller Comment: To all potential buyers/fish lovers: Don't worry, we have reassessed the situation and realise that releasing Florence into the Avon may not be the best fate for her. If she doesn't sell we will return her back to Animates in the hope that her 3 second memory hasn't erased the memories of her pet shop family. the unanswered question are going to be interesting
