Mint... now.. whachu buy?

I got some killies from HFF :D

So another update: It seems as if the security people for CAA don't mind the fact you have fish, but if the Air NZ staff see you with poly boxes they make a big fuss. Buying a carry on bag to hold the poly boxes would have made life a bit easier.

We got on the plane anyway with them so all was good in the end. Fish are happy in their new home :D

Aviation Security Service who do the Xraying and scanning are there to uphold nz and international legislation but the airlines themselves have their own rules that can be more restrictive. After having worked at the former and other govt type places, and having watched those people getting nailed on those Customs TV shows, I would be declaring anything odd because the risk if they say you can't take it puts you in a difficult position of either having to come up with some large sum of money or risk missing your flight because of having to arrange alternative fish transport. These people are always easier on those who are up front about what they want to do. It's only a matter of time before they tighten up domestic flights. Ignorance only works once!

but they are fully grown discus.

there won't be any difference between you carrying them or sending them on a courier, they will need to be packed the same. they may need to be put in a single large bag as big as the poly box & maybe 1 fish per box, there may be someone that can clarify this but the actual transport will make no difference IMO.
