reef13
I started some sort of fascination with rays and sting rays when i used to be a scuba diving instructor no matter what other life was around i always used to find these guys amazing and awesome to interact with, well anyway from looking at alot of overseas forums and googleing alot of stuff i see that there is actually quite a few freshwater rays availible for aquariums and some of them just look amazing and a very manageable size. to cut a long story short are there any freshwater rays availible at all in new zealand or are we able to import them in at all? David R
Perhaps we need a sticky post with a link to the list of allowable imports........ http://www.biosecurity.govt.nz/imports/ ... ic.all.htm
henward
No, definately not. but, you can lobby. the endof the day, ERMA decides what comes in. how they do that? you pay for them to consider your application, and prove through studies that the rays are no harm ot nz environments. then they decides. you need peer reviewed science papers etc. i think its possible, someone just needs to front up wtih a few hundred bux and some papers of research.
