ghostknife
hi there is there anybody that can please help me to id the fish in the following photos thanks photo 1 photo 2 photo3
ryanjury
Your photos are too big to post here they have to be small or post clickable photos to allow them to be viewed.. They are pretty fuzzy photos and one of them is face on but at a guess. 1. Male fryeri 2. male blue zebra 3. female kadango With better photos may be able to tell more.. ghostknife
thanks for that ryanjury still not too sure on posting pictures but am hoping to get help soon
ryanjury
You did everything right.. Just resize your photo before you post it. Easiest way to do it is to download a free image resizing tool (just google it for your operating system) and download it, most just add to the menu that comes down when you right click on photos so you can click resize from there
ghostknife
again thanks for that but how come the photos arnt showing
ryanjury
The photos aren't showing because they are too big this forum is setup to not display big images.. Most other forums have auto resizers or stuff like that but this one doesn't.. Do you have an option for a "clickable URL" on your image host page? SamH
They need to be a maximum of 640 pixels wide, no more. I've saved you the hassle and done it for you, hosted on my PhotoBucket if you don't mind 8)

smidey
fryeri with yellow in its blaze or is that just the light?
ryanjury
Hard to tell the photo is pretty bad, but I picked a white blaze with yellow coming through from lighting.. More pics would certainly help.
ghostknife
just had a look at the fish in the first photo it does have a yellow stripe from the nose to the tip of his fin
ryanjury
Hmm that is interesting not a fryeri then.. But looks too blue to be a lithobates.. Any chance of some more clearer pics of these fish and a side on one of the first fish?
firenzenz
There were Fryeri X coming out of the Nth shore a while ago. Saw some and had mixed colour blaze like that. Guy told me they were a yellow baze variety? Crossed with litho my guess
MarkLB
Hi all. fryeri with yellow in its blaze or is that just the light? Hmm that is interesting not a fryeri then These comments made me look at my fryeri. I got them from a perceived expert. I'm thinking my perception is out of whack  What do you think this guy is? He has a yellow blaze like ghostknifes fish. How does this fish compare to yours ghostknife?
firenzenz
I willing to put my head on the block and say -Hybrid I almost can see venustus in there. Depth of head, shape of mouth and profile of body looks wrong for Fryeri
MarkLB
Thanks for the quick response firenzenz I willing to put my head on the block and say -Hybrid  Damn it all. Still, him and his bro' are good looking fish in the display tank so I'll be keeping them. I'm pleased that I held off breeding them though. ryanjury
Yeah sorry to say Mark IMO it is not a fryeri either I too can see venutus in there.. Fryeri are supposed to be alot more slender than that and white blaze.. Where did your one come from Mark? PM if you feel the need to not name and shame, I just like to keep track of what various strains of these fish turn out like..
MarkLB
Thanks Ryan. I won't name and shame publicly. I have PM'd you.
ryanjury
Cheers for that Mark, as I said I am already well warned and had my own dodgy dealings with that person Obviously it is almost impossible to tell what has made up your fish but It is an interesting comparison
MarkLB
but It is an interesting comparison Hmmm....interesting indeed.
firenzenz
Well done Guys! I can even see the 'grassy knoll' in the Bkgrd
MarkLB
Of course, we could hypothesise for hours on end and still not come to a conclusion as to what the cross is but we can say that it is not fryeri. And, as it's been stated, the yellow blaze on ghostknifes fish means that it isn't fryeri either. ghostknife, can you post another pic of yours for a better look at the body shape?
