calvin
Follow the link to see some pics of my tank. They are not the best as they were taken in a hurry and not with a good DPI. I will take better ones sometime or the other. Please let me know what you think. (the anemone is hiding behind the rock with the red mushrooms on in the middle of the tank ) http://www.dotphoto.com/go.asp?l=c%40lvin&p=521F

calvin
I have the following 2 problems in my tank though. 1) The anemone that's hiding in the back of the tank. What can I do about this? Should I just turn the rocks aroun so it faces the front? 2) The Finger Leather is not attaching to the rock that I put it in. Any suggestions? dan_from_nz
the anenome will move to where it is comfortable try moving a power head or water flow device so that it is comfortable where you want it (easier said than done i know)
Brianemone
super glue gel, i had the same problem with mine as well, (the recently departed blennie desidin he was the king of aquascaping and kept knocking it over) my anemone was grumpy for about two hours getting used to the current when i moved him around recently to give him more light (cut down on his need for blennies)
calvin
super glue gel So what you are saying is take supper glue and glue the anemone to the rock whee I want it to be??? Isn't this issuing it's death certificate or that of anything else in the tank? :-?
chimera
hell NO!!!
Brianemone
hahaha sorry i meant for the leather, i havent used super slue on leathers but it works fine on polyps, poor anemone with the super glue foot another option that worked for mine was to leave it where it wasnt going to get disturbed with a rubber band holding it to a small chunk of rock
Brianemone
again that suggestion is for the leather. i wouldnt try atttaching an anemone with any thing other than gravity
Ira
I'd just rubber band the leather to the rock or try a toothpick through its base and rubber hand holding that down. They seem to attach faster with the cut side held to a rock, or is that just my imagination?
Brianemone
dont think so (as in not you rimagination)
petplanet
You need (or we need) to know what type of anemone is is as they have different preferences for light, current, oxygen levels, rock or sand. Can you give a discription? Base colour, base markings, tentile colour, shape etc. I have a good book that has discriptions for all of them. skuzza
If it keeps hiding in the dark try changing a part of your tank to create shade and place in there.I have had some demanding ones as the shop will tell and sell you anything 90% of the time as they dont know ether. Brianemone
mine has maroon/brown body and tentacles that are about an inch long with white tips and radial striations (lines oing out from the middle)the base is white with little bumps any id pet planet?? petplanet
Could be a Heteractis malu or Heterctis crispa. Both like bright light and sand/gravel bottom. I would move the anemone to the bottom near rocks in the light and let it sort itself out.
