antwan
I am after some dark sand/gravel for my new planted tank and was wondering if anybody knew of a secret place that has this? I went to most fish shops today and a few landscaping places and none seemed to have any... Does anybody in the area perhaps know of a natural place I could go and thief some from? The Warehouse and Bunnings seem to have no idea what Dalton's propagating sand is either which is a shame..

Jennifer
Yeah, there is a place, a landscaping place. I think it is on Dyers Pass Rd, someone told me about it (Romeo?) but I have never been. Heard the guy there is great with lots of choice. Caryl
How dark? I get my gravel in ChCh (usually at Redwoods) and get the dark brown stuff. I am told it is a local stone too. Not sure it is what you would call "fine" though.

Romeo
Have you tried Dyers Road Landscape Supplies? http://www.dyersroadlandscape.co.nz/ That's where we got our gravel from, there's some great stuff in 1kg bags inside. Great if you're doing a small tank.
