Caryl
Don't add any food to the bags. How big are the fish? The bigger the fish the more waste so less to a bag in that case. More air than water in the bags too.
Zev
As Caryl says, no food in the bag - don't feed them before you bag them either, poop is bad! They will survive fine without a meal before they travel. Double bag as well. I have used Fastways with no problems.
Barrie
if you were to go away for a weekend/weeks holliday they would be happy enough without food so dont feed the night before either... as mentions food = waste= polution depending on the heat pad you have, it often pays to pack the air space arround the double baged fish with newspaper and tape the heat pad to the newspaper above the fish
xxdarnixx
red jewels,so would two to a bag be better?...no food, got it some are adult others are half grown
ryanjury
I would definitely be doing 1 fish per bag for bigger more robust fish like larger cichlids they have a tendency to smash each other to a pulp thrashing around in bags.. jim r
If you can get them to Hamilton early you could send them same day via NZC the cost would be $11.50 for 5kg/.025cubic metre or $23 10kg/.05 cubic metre, providing it is not a rural delivery. jim r
NZC will courier fish but will not accept liability. Nor will any other courier.
