livingart
haven't experienced myself but remember reading a thread somewhere on that had someone bring in one that was salivating and coughing turned out to be a piece of bark it had swallowed i performed the hindlick manouvre on it
Sweetysmum
He doesn't have laboured breathing or anything but i do tend to pull him out of him warm enclosure a bit ... To me when i pull him out its quite warm, but maybe to someone living in a heated environment, he might feel differently.... This is the third time I have witnessed him doing it, the time before was about 5-6 weeks back, but this time it lasted on and off for about 10 miunutes .... I emailed his vet for advice but he is away for two weeks. He doesn't have any bark in his home and only a very small area of sand - Hey Mystic and Malin Calypso sends big hugs Gosh Livingart did you really ...... wow
livingart
sorry guys it was a joke i just compressed its ribcage quickly a couple of times as it had gone llimp and it spat out the bark then came right some reps seem to play dead when stressed
Sweetysmum
Calypso wondered if he could come stay with Malin for a few days. He says mummy is driving him up the wall, literally.
Sweetysmum
But still that was a very smart thing to do - i tend to run around like a headless chicken when something goes wrong with him.
livingart
any mucus from the mouth or discharge from its nose?
Sweetysmum
No, there is no mucus or discharge. When he went for his vet check for his eye about 3 weeks ago i mentioned it to the vet but at that stage i described it as a hiccup, but after watching him this time it's definitely a cough. Anyway the vet managed to look in his mouth that time and saw nothing. But this time the cough lasted alot longer.

Sweetysmum
Something I have often wondered. I would appreciate your guys advice. My partner is a very heavy smoker. He doesn't live in the same house as Calypso but visits often. He has never smoked in our house but he does get very close to Calypso sometimes. Do you think that could have something to do with it? Sweetysmum
Oh oh I saw Malins pics. He is one handsome young lizard. He's also Calypso's best friend.

Sweetysmum
We wondered if Calypso had snuck a fag and had a smoke behind our backs. But seriously though. I have been quite worried, I start thinking things like stomach cancer, which doesn't help him or me. But ever since he had his eye removed he just looks so vulnerable. (And a tad clumsey) I do appreciate your thoughts and opinions. Thank you guys for being there.
livingart
you spend too much time worrying about things that may never happen and if they did happen your worrying won't be able to stop it relax and just enjoy your pet for the time it is with you you may give yourself an ulcer
