supasi
Ive kept it before. Similar conditions to Lotus is required. If it does not have Banana shaped tubers when you buy it, it will need to be planted and not disturbed for a long time for them to grow. It is a finiky plant. Some people have no issues with growing, others like me cant get it to grow very well. It appears on Trade me occasionally. Best bet is ask a shop to order you some. Zev
I had one, grew like a weed in my 2fter with 36w of 6500k light - leaves got really big, had to get rid of it. In any other tank I had it struggled, the leaves stayed the size of old 50c pieces and then it would slowly disappear.
N1CK
Well it looks like one of these will do alright in my 2fter then thanks for that site as well
alanmin4304
There is a node about 100-150mm back down the stalk from the leaf and often a plant will start to grow there. They will also usually grow a plant at the end of the stalk if you cut off the leaf and let it float. It takes a very rich media and time for them to grow bananas as it is the plants nutrient store.
