HEATING A FISH ROOM

As our fish tanks grow we are looking at heating the sleepout room we are using.

It is fully batted and also carpeted, that will go and will be replaced with rubber mats.

How is everyone heating their rooms for the best result & safest result?

You know electrickery and water do not like each other OR with people.

I did do a search and saw gas, I am presuming the stand alone heater sort. I believe that is toxic in a closed room.

I was thinking a fan heater mounted with a greenhouse thermostat.

Thanks in advance Evey

Pretty much the same as Alan.

But I also have lights on a timer ( they do add some heat) and back up heaters in my sumps

I have found that having a well insulated room is a big thing and this can not be over stated. Running some 50 tanks is no more expensive in a well inulated room than runing 6 in a poorly insulated area. So before you move stuff in to teh sleep out make sure you test there are few gaps, drafts etc. Oh a few Draughts is ok tho.
