Vervo
Good day all, my name is Vivien, I am new here, but I used to look up this website seeking tips setting up my first tank 2 years ago, now I am offically a member :bounce: I and my boyfriend used to have a few tanks for our fighters, now we only have 1 decent size (110L) tank as a community fish tank. we had 3 fishes died so far since we set up this tank earlier this year, we found that fighters are really hard to keep... but I still adore them. now we have 2 female and 1 male fighters, 4 rams (2 couples), 2 crown catfishes, 3 ramsy noses and 1 golden bottom feeder cat fish. once again, hello from me and my boyfriend, we will post here (mainly I) for some professional fishing keeping advices. SamH
Welcome to the forums. I've also found fighters hard to keep, I've recently had three die from disease
BikBok
welcome! I've found my fighters more sensitive than the other fish also.. but haven't lost any thank goodness.
BikBok
just a little question, and sorry if it seems obvious but I have to ask... were you keeping more than one male in your community tank? You said some fighters have died and I see another post asking to buy a male betta. SO I thought I should just check.

MarkLB
Hi Vervo and partner, welcome to the forums :bounce: BikBok has asked a pertinent question, one which I was wondering too. As far as I know it's best to keep only one male per tank and I've heard it recommended that males and females shouldn't be put together unless breeding. Vervo
Hi all I keep male fighter in a float breeding trap, I have about 2 years experience having fighters, I know males can't keep together, I still have not breed them yet, once very unsucessfully, now just the male is not very good at nesting, females aren't interested
