JazzyJeff
Hi guys - I'm new to growing aquatic plants so am after some tips from those of you who are wonderfully experienced. I love the look of xmas moss when it is attached to something ie driftwood, rocks. I have got myself some a decent amount of xmas moss from Trademe, pre soaked driftwood & nice rocks from LFS and some fine nylon. What advice can you guys offer? How long will it take for the moss to attach itself? Does the nylon get removed after it has attached itself? How much moss do you start with? blah blah blah... Love to hear your thoughts! N1CK
If you try it with thread, by the time it has decintergrated it will be attached also if you use nylon when the time comes to remove it you will probably be not able to find it anymore

JazzyJeff
Bugga! Wish I knew that before I went into crusty old sewing shop as this was the only place I could find the dam nylon cotton!
VinsonMassif
There is no reason you can't use the nylon cotton dude. Seeing as you have already bought it.

alanmin4304
If you granny uses a walker you could trip her up and pinch her hairnet coss that will work as well.

A hair net... interesting. How does that work? Can I do that with the rock? Cover it in moss then use the hairnet to hold it in place? That sounds like a cunning plan! I ain't got a gran so how bout a garlic bag? Kinda the same...
alanmin4304
Fine netting of a similar type will work and keep granny happier as well. You can do the same thing with Java Moss or Riccia but the latter needs pretty good light.
