Barrie
Alan Wakelins mix Take 3 wheatbix and crush Add enough water to dampen until porridge like. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of yeast in loop warm water Add to mix Add culture to start. Have at least 2 cultures going at any time, I have 4. Zev
For the porridge mix just put a little pinch of yeast, or you end up with a bubbling brew!
Bilbo
Just make it as per the recipe on the bag, minus the salt. sprinkly the yeast lightly over the top. No set amount just not heaps. For large batches I make 1/2 cup oats, 1 1/4 cup water in microwave for 2 minutes. It makes a 1cm layer on the bottom of an icecream container. Then 1/2 tsp yeast.
