spooky
It's the wrong way around ! The gravel is meant to slope down towards your fish-watching sofa
chimera
agreed, gives it persepective i would do a better job at hiding pumps, heaters etc too (this is constructive criticism! )
Wok
I agree with the other 2 you should slope the gravel so that when you are sitting on the sofa you can see the fish Otherwise nice setup. I like what you did with the rocks. Got any bristlenose in there?
Caryl
You have been busy Dan. It is very difficult to landscape a tank that is to be viewed from both sides, hiding the equipment is very difficult. Move the heaterstat down as far as you can without it touching the gravel. I would also consider attaching it to the short side near the window. With plenty of water current it will still heat the whole tank. It also looks a bit bare. I realise it has just been set up but are you going to add more plants? I like the way you have stacked the rocks. I see you have an external filter, internal filter, plus ugf. I thought those tanks had some sort of filtration built into the lids? This is a personal opinion but I would remove the blue marbles. I think they don't look natural in any tank and detract from the whole. They are a pet hate of mine
Brianemone
can you put the heater on the backwall?

dan_from_nz
I like what you did with the rocks. Got any bristlenose in there? Thanks No I took my bristle nose out as I have a 25cm sailfin plece in there and my 6cm bristle nose was getting picked on so he was moved into my guppie tank and is now in with my turtle

I think they don't look natural in any tank and detract from the whole. They are a pet hate of mine  Thanks I will move the heater like you said as i am confident I have plenty of water flow and will build the rock are bigger to hide all this Yeah it is very bare at the moment both in fish and plants the stepped gravel part I am going to turn into a heavily planted section and am planning on adding quite a few neons glowlights and penguin tetras later on down the track No the tank has no filtration in the lid but I am considering buying two power heads and turning the ugf into reverse flow ugf's as I can not gravel vac where the ugf is without moving all the rocks. Yeah the blue marbles had been berried and are from my very first fish tank it is only because i done this in a bit of a rush that they ended up back on top Thanks again for your comments and advice

petplanet
Fill it up!!!! Get that water level to the top. Always looks nicer if you can't see the water line. Your fish will look like they are floating.
