REEVESTA
Hi all. Both of my breeding pair of Convicts have just developed a bulging right eye. It appears to have developed over night. They had Babies about 4 weeks ago, which are now free swimming. I am just doing a water change. Does anyone have any advice on what else I can do for my Convicts. Do you know what this is? I am worried if I put a treatment in the tank the parents might eat the babies, or that the treatment may harm the babies. What can I do? jim r
" popeye " is a sign of abdominal dropsy which is a bacterial problem quite often associated with poor water quality.
LYNDYLOO
I had a Keyhole with this recently, the eye ending up popping, after doing 50% water changes everyday, hoping that would help him, he died about 2 weeks after it popped. You could try Furan2 but to be honest I think you would be wasting your time.
