You have to be careful to get "FOOD GRADE" BARRELS if you intend collecting/storing water for fish tanks. Plastic barrels absorb a lot of the chemicals that have been in them (Much to my earlier unfortunate experiences) and can leach back out into the water you put into the barrel.
