Caryl
For those who wanted to know how fish prices compared, here are some from one outlet in England. NOTE THEY ARE IN POUNDS! Do your own conversion but I will do one for you to start. NZ$1 = 0.39GBP neons 1.20 or 5 for 5 pounds, or 10 for 9.50, or 20 for 17 pounds. This is $3.10 each, or 5 $12.80 , or 10 for $24.30, or 20 for $43.50. If my math is correct (which I doubt as I am useless at math) they work out at $2.10 each if you get 20. wild caught Heckelli discus 27.50 figure 8 puffers 5.50 red bellied piranha 2 pounds harlequins 1.80 of 5 for 8 pounds Siamese flying fox 3.50 or 3 for 9 pounds moonlight gourami 3.50 or 3 for 9 pounds gold sucking loach 2 pound or 3 for 5.50 kribs 3.50 or 2 for 6 pounds black diamond tetras (wild) 3.25 or 5 for 15 pounds cardinals 2.25 or 5 for 10 pounds, 10 for 19 pounds BNs 12.50, 3 for 36 pounds gold BNs 7.95 or 2 for 14 pounds Siamese fighters 3.75 Corydorus albino 2.25 or 3 for 6 pounds C schwartzi 4.40 or 3 for 15 pounds C panda 4.40 or 3 for 12.50 angels 4.95, 4 for 18 pounds, 3 for 12 pounds L47 mango plec 46.50 or 3 for 120 pounds L177 queen gold nugget 39.95 large clown loaches 49.95. Caryl
Their wages would need to be higher as the cost of fresh food over there was very high!

acara
The torpedo barb prices are mad,but the rest are pretty cheap compared to what we pay in Ireland!! Have done one fish buying trip over on the ferry,3 of us bought back 293 fish.Planning another one for the opening of the fish shed this summer.A lot of us buy our dry goods online from over there, for example, can get a FX5 shipped here for about 190 euro,my LFS has them for 495e!! When I started out again 3years ago,I was conned into 25 euro each for 3 C.sterbai, won't happen again!!!
