BikBok
Is it ok to use plant lead anchors to wrap around a piece of food for my Bristlenose and Kuhli. I was wondering about lead poisoning as they will be nibbling around the edges.. and for that matter to have lead in a tank at all. I just used a piece tonight to weigh down a small piece of pumpkin. Otherwise my Miss Piggy guppy attacks it and it floats all around the tank while she disintegrates it. She eats everything in sight.
VinsonMassif
The majority of 'lead' anchors around now are not actually lead. but if you were to only leave it in a few hours I wouldn't worry. I use a fork instead, works well.
BikBok
oh well that makes me feel a bit better. What is it made of? It will be in overnight and removed in the morning. What about the 'lead' around the plants?
VinsonMassif
I have no idea what it is made of. I take off the weight from the plants. I find it looks better with a small flat stone etc to hold the plant down until it grows roots. Most plant I have bought have had enough roots already not to need weights. livingart
i think the amount of lead used in the average tank getting weekly water changes would be low the level can be affected by the amount of oxygen and carbonic acid present in the water good question. i wonder how much to get your water tested?
