sewelld
Hi We have a tank with Neon Tetras, Guppies and Glowlight Tetras, and 2 Pleco's. I want to now add 2 fish, who are happy in a community tank, but are also happy being the only one of their kind in the tank. These will be gifts to my kids, so I want something special, but easy and hardy! My one choice would be A Japenese fighter fish, as they OK being solitary, but what else? Any advice? Dixon1990
Well, i have never heard of a japanese figherfish, but a Siamese Fighter fish would be ok with those fish, Except with male guppies with colour/big tails.

Caper
I thought the same as you Dixon, that fighters would go after the guppies tails. Caper
bronze-dragon
How well planted is the tank?
Navarre
As well as how well planted is the tank...how big is it? What sort of filter do you have and what is its temp? Also what sort of gravel and lights If the size make and shape of the set up are suitable then Kribs are a good start as common and easy to keep as well as being pretty good as far as cichlids go( yes I have some if you are interested...lol) or you could look at a number of other fish but I think the fighter will nip the other fish you have mentioned.
