Vinnie
my partner has a guppy in her tank that started flicking its self really quickly and that would put him sideways, then he would quickly get back to the right way up, but 5 - 10 seconds later he will do it again :-? any one seen this before? Southerrrngirrl
Sounds like the guppy is flashing, generally a sign that he is irritated by something. How big is the tank, how long has it been set up and what are his tankmates?
Caper
I agree sounds like it is flashing/scratching. Other than this behaviour, do you see anything "out of the ordinary" visible on the fish? What are your water parameters? Caper
Vinnie
It is a 80 liter tank with guppy's, 4 cory's and a BN. Male Guppy looks fine but will have a closer look tonight. Tank has been set up about 4 months now

Southerrrngirrl
20 + / - And the water parameters? Have you tested for ammonia, nitrates, nitrites etc?
Vinnie
did all the water testing the other day and nothing strange there. Guppy is back to normal self and non of the other fish are showing any problems. will keep a close eye on the tank though for the next few days to make sure all is well
Caper
Keep us posted if anything changes. Maybe, as been said here before, he just had an itch. I learned a long time ago, from here of course, that just because they are scratching/flashing doesn't always mean there is always a problem.
