lmsmith
My Eheim 2215 is making horrible grinding noises like it's not primed properly. I've cleaned it, reprimed it, checked for air bubbles, checked the shaft and impeller, what else can I check before I switch it off and loose all my media? phoenix44
is the impellor broken?
bulldogod
Will you loose all your media if you turn it off???????
Stella
Is it actually pumping water? If yes: is it pumping what it used to?
rox
Does it have a blockage? We unhooked ours gave it a clean popped it back together and no go. Primed and primed and still not working. Garry gave the hoses a big blow and it released blockage and started gurgling away again
lmsmith
Ok, well I took it apart and everything looked fine, no blockages or anything. It was pumping a little bit of water, but making this horrible noise. I took it apart and dried off all the pump bits, and noticed that the shaft is loose in the impeller. It looks like it's worn down on one side, so I guess that's what the noise is. Thanks for all your help guys, now, can anyone tell me where I can get a new impeller before this noise drives me insane?

phoenix44
2215 impellors should be readily available. your eyes will pop out at the price of them though so be warned  the ceramic things are usually available separately as well. is the wee lille rubber thing still on there? lmsmith
Yup the rubber thing is still on it, and the ceramic shaft is fine too. Approx how much am I looking for one of these things?
phoenix44
if its just the ceramic thing then its only like 15 bucks. but if its the whole thing - hten i think its in the $50 range i think. not sure though. the prices do occasionally get muddled up in my head. there are a lot of numbers swimming around in there at any point in time.
lmsmith
Thanks guys; I went into animates today at got one. $44.95. But on the plus side, I'm only $75 away from my next $10 voucher!
phoenix44
that sounds about right. the palmy shop had some on a clearance half price a month ago but they all seemed to vanish in a couple of days. I think one dude bought all the impellors.
