Tsarmina
hi people, what could i do to increase calcium levels in a tank? one of my apple snails has a small hole in its shell thanks to a convict attack  and want to help with healing. thanks
Mel
Don't know if this will help - but you can get turtle calcium shells that gradually disolve in the water at my LFS they are $1 each. I think also danilion has calcuim in it try that the snail may also like to eat it.

Mel
Throw some bird grit in the filter? Hmm do you think that will work - may have to try it in my turtles filter. But is too much calcium bad though?
Caryl
A guy I know used to have cuttlefish bone (the stuff you buy for birds) floating in his turtle ponds.
Tsarmina
i have just dug out a container of Wardley reptile calcium. i used to add it to the turtles food when they were inside. could this be used? maybe a paste of it on some plants? whetu
A guy I know used to have cuttlefish bone (the stuff you buy for birds) floating in his turtle ponds. Yep, I've had that suggested to me for snails' shells. Cheap to buy (you can often get it in the pet section of the supermarket). I used to put it in my snail tank. I never noticed any of it dissolving, but apparently it's one of those old-fashioned remedies that really works.
