Dixon1990
What south american fish could i get that has personality and could go with the smallest tetras (ember tetra). I want a fish that could be named and be more of a pet. I saw a chocolate knifefish(Apteronotus leptorhynchus) at a LFS around 10cm. Very interesting but i think he would end up eating the ember tetras . Any other ideas?

Zabman
gotta go cichlids mate! Find some interesting rams and design around them! Theres not many big south americans that wont eat the smallest tetras or gobble up all your plants!

Dixon1990
Abramites hypselonotus- Marbled headstander Anostomus anostomus- Striped headstander Would either of these 2 be alright if i move the ember tetras and guppies? The smallest fish would then be Adult Cardinal tetras and Adult Nannostomus Eques.
Dixon1990
And Anostomus ternetzi is another one i can get - these ones stay smaller i think
enzoom1
Up in HFF theres a striped headstander. I havn't see any around of either species except for this one. From what I've read theyre fine with other fish, but may get territorial with their own kind.

enzoom1
From memory they were cheap, $15 ono. I can't be 100% certain because on their tank, all it said was headstanders $15 dollars. But they did look very much like them.
