phoenix44
you need 1 male and 1 female... lol.. and then you put them in a nice tank ... lower the water level - and then put a small piece of plastic film on the water level so the male can make a nest there. that way you can see the eggs too. then one fine day when you see a nest and a preggo female, and the male beats it up and twists himself round her and all these eggs come pouring out... then you have bred them! :bounce: once the egg laying process is over, and the male has thoroughly bashed the female for good measure it may seem, take her out and leave him in there to keep picking his eggs up and sticking them in the nest. when they start wiggling you can remove him, but i usually leave the male in there for a day or so. hope this helps  :bounce: :bounce:

Ira
I have recently got a pear of Pearl Gourami's. Can anyone give me some tips on the best ways, and tips to breed them? *Runs screaming* All I did was feed my male and female up on frozen food, put my male in a calm tank, let him build a bubble nest for a few days then put the female in until they spawned. You'll know they have because there'll be heaps of little eggs floating everywhere that haven't made it into the nest and he'll be chasing the female into a corner. Then take them both out. 2 years and 400 fish later I finally got rid of them all. then one fine day when you see a nest and a preggo female, and the male beats it up and twists himself round her and all these eggs come pouring out... then you have bred them! You will NEVER see a pregnant female pearl gourami. It never has and never will happen.
phoenix44
You will NEVER see a pregnant female pearl gourami. It never has and never will happen. you know what i mean though. egg laden. same difference. (unless you are the female in which case i concede defeat with the highest of all known and unknown and yet to be discovered apologies). *chucks a pearl gourami at you*
