axolotl-danio
Hello Would a 20 litre be too small for a few hillstream loaches (myers)? It has lots of aeration and a powerful internal filter. If so whats the minimum tank size?
curtur
Most of what I've seen about these fish suggest they need a quite decent size tank (3-4 foot) with cooler water (as the name suggests, they come from streams in the hills) with a high flow rate. Keeping a 20ltr tank cool enough could be an issue for them.
kiwiplymouth
I keep mine in a 70L tank which i would consider to be about the smallest area that they need.
Whiskas
Funny - i hav 2 borneo suckers (aka hillstream loaches) in a 13L tank with approx 12 juvie leopardfish. The tank has a filter and a bubbler in it, along with plants and rocks, the heater is set at its lowest (as in winter the water temp gets really low without it - but at this time of the year it gets up to around 25). All the fish are VERY happy! These are WAY cool fish - there a post on here of some guy who has a whole lot of different types, check it out.
