max
hi, as some of you will know i have already asked questions re my new tank- which seems pretty boring compared to the ones most of you have on here!! We have chosen as rookies to start with the good old plain coldwater goldfish as thats what our sons wanted (and it was their Xmas present). Our twins have just turned 5 and adore the goldfish they had at the daycare they went to 2 days a week and our oldest son is 7 and always helps my Nanas neighbour with her outdoor goldfish tank- which is where we got ours from. We are pleased with what we have for now BUT already my husband is looking and talking about bigger tanks!!!!!!!!!! 8) It's great having a site like this with people full of knowledge to help people like us!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caryl
Hi and welcome. If you plan to keep goldfish, especially comets, rather than a bigger tank (save that for tropicals ) why not build a pond? Goldfish need large tanks as they are very messy fish and produce a lot of waste. Comets are fast swimmers and do better in a pond where they can swim well. Caper
Hi & welcome! I have 2 goldfish Sam and Beauty. Sam was one of my first fish, Beauty my son gave me. He/she was called Beauty because she is a, ah fantail? (tsk tsk, been away from forum too long can't remember fish), anyway he/she had a deformed tail, thus the name Beauty but now the tail is beautiful as well! I sure hope your goldies have their license to drive that car! Take care & have fun, Caper

max
Gee thanks adodge for putting up my photo i took!!!! Forgot i even went into this page so didnt come back to check till now as its heaps easier to do with kids all fast asleep in bed!!! We were going to make this a tropical tank BUT decided to see if the kids lost interest in having them as pets and didnt interfear with them too much!!! seems our cat is their best playmate as she lays on the table and they tease each other most nights- funny to watch!! luckily aquarium has a heavy lid she has no chance in opening!! Kids fell in love with the car and the fish have fun chasing each other thru it!!!!
