Tsarmina
i know they will eat plants (or rather completely destroy the) but will the eat algae? i was thinking of getting a few to help keep a bare bottom, plant free tank clean. Andrew_W
i believe you can get plant friendly algae eating snails, not sure of the name. Trumpet and Limpets some1 should be able to tell you if they are available in there country and maybe suggest some out snails. there are other options to algae problems apple snails, aren't the best at eating algae either. Tsarmina
ok, so would they be ok in a tank with a BGK and a Clown Knife?
Dixon1990
Should be alright, the 2 of those fish are moving enough during the night to be safe from apple snails
Tsarmina
their tank is temporarily bare, while i plan what to do with it. there is a large piece of driftwood in there and a couple of plastic pipes which they hide in. Tsarmina
Ba'al is about 14cm and Zippy (bgk) is 19.5cm. they are currently sharing a 4ft tank, but will eventually have their own big tanks.

Luke*
yip they eat algae, green and brown the blue mysterys are cool ay! they'd look ultra cool under a blue light. or you could get ottocinclus catfish to eat algae if you want a plant friendly fish instead but snails are way cheaper
Tsarmina
or you could get ottocinclus catfish to eat algae if you want a plant friendly fish instead but snails are way cheaper you would think they are. There is only 1 place i can buy them from that cost a lot less than $5/snail (and thats just the plain ones)
