Deno
does a pleco like a sandy bottom tank?
Ira
They don't particularly care if it's sandy or not.
Ant N
There is quite a bit of their natural habitat on Youtube, Mostly silt bottom, so sand is no problem.

ryanjury
Pleco's are fine with the africans the only problem I have with them and the reason I don't keep them is they make soo much mess.. I stick with the standard bristlenoses whatever floats your boat..
Charlie
plecos are hardy and fine with most substrate. Just done use sharp point stuff as it may cut their bodys. Also be careful that the gravel or whatever you plan on using is fish safe :bounce: I use bare bottom due to it being to easy to clean...
