skaffen
Hiya I'm wanting a largish species with lots of character for a 440 l planted tropical community tank. Anyone have any ideas? Current residents are Tiger Barbs, Emerald Eye Rasboras, Black (Neon?) Tetras, SAEs, Dwarf Loaches, Bolivian Rams, a few Platies, and one, possibly two, Ottos. firenzenz
Have you thought of rainbows? They are amazing in a planted tank, colourful, and an array of types.
Tigger
we have some dwarf neon rainbows and they are lovely, really actuve and pretty to look at and so funny when it comes to feeding time as they nip in and out of the other fish stealing all the food!

Dixon1990
I too think Rainbowfish or Discus would be good tankmates.
skaffen
What are Discus like, personality wise? The Rainbows sound cool.
Dixon1990
Discus are fairly peaceful as far as i know, Will eat smaller fish when fully grown though
lmsmith
They're both awesome fish. I'd go for rainbows, just cuz I want someone to post more pics!
Neon
sorry to hear about your fish loss Skaffen. I reckon you should get a gold severum. I'd get one but none of my tanks are big enough.....

A gold severum would Destroy this tank, It would eat all / uproot the plants and Possible eat smaller fish when bigger

skaffen
Yeah, thanks. I'm pretty bummed about em. Oh well, got two more SAEs this afternoon - man they are algae hoovers when they are young. Shame they soon learn about fish food sorry to hear about your fish loss Skaffen.
