Guest
WCMM and golden WCMM look cool. Also I think you can have leopard fish in a cold water tank and if you get time go looking for FW shrimp which look awesome (I was never able to find them though ) Also I think theres one called a paradise fish or some thing that looks cool. Or you could set up a native tank which are cool.
Dixon1990
Tropical is exactly the same as coldwater in terms of Basicness, Infact even easier than keeping goldfish. Just may add a little bit to oyur powerbill if its big..
Stella
Why do you want a 'very basic tank'? What does that mean to you? What are you not wanting to do? If we better understand what your requirements are we can better advise you
sparrowmayhem
I would like a very basic tank because i would like to add another tank to my home but something simple to look after i have an learning illness and a mental illness and i find it hard to do alot of things but i really enjoy fish and would like some more. At the moment i have 2 grown axolotls and around 30 baby axies
Guest
I'd try White cloud mountain minnows. They're ussually really hardy and can go in slightly higher temps and if you have plants in the tank you may even get some baby minnows appear. 8)

Slightly Blue Dalmation
the only difference really between tropical and cold water basically is the heater, if you get a tank and understock it all you mostly need to do is feed them and a water change every now and again same as for cold water
