Rio670
how important is it for them to have a cave so something for them to hide in?
tuppence7
i think it would be important for their happiness as it makes them feel safe
Caryl
They are also happy just under a piece of driftwood or thick plant. My Ancistrus do not have any caves at all and have bred happily for years.
firenzenz
The older they get the more inclined they will be to hide away, especially the males. The cave is optimum for breeding purposes, but young one less than 5cm just need something to chill out under like a log and will be fine.
