repto
walked past my fishpond this morning and was surprised to see two frogs jump in and swim down into the leaves etc on the bottom, water is still real cold.A few more fish visible and active as well, also heard a kingfisher calling from up in the trees nearby.Maybe some more posts on here soon, been a bit quite lately. Dixon1990
doubt if they would be this years taddies down there?maybe some 2yrs that have wintered overperhaps? They were eggs in march- we have eggs quite often around then, is this not normal?
repto
Don`t know about that but up here we would never get spawn that late and most taddies that are not big enough to change would die over winter with the exeption of a few `2yr `tads which are alot bigger than normal ones.We only have bells mainly.Yours may be whistlers which may breed later?someone will know? Insect Direct
yea i think the whistling tree frogs breed all year around or atleast try to as there was a male calling in the backyard here (around some fish in baths) in may/june and it was freezing then but he was still tryin his luck
